Well, I launched at 8,000 and I sat still spinning my tires for about 1.5 seconds before I realized I wasn't going to grip. I sorta panicked and let off the gas too much, and bogged as I started to go. I ran a 14.5 @ 102MPH, nothing to be proud of at all - but that was my first time to ever run at the track...I had no idea how my car would hook up out there.

It aint no dragster. Can you say sports car? Sure you can! Perhaps Websters says it best: Sports car, a high-powered automobile with low, rakish lines, usually for 2 persons.

I'm sorry for your loss, but next time take it to a track with twists and turns, what it was built for.

hot, humid houston night.. track was too grippy.. had to launch at 8 and spin forever just to not bog the launch.
out of 6 s2000's happened to be everyones first time at the track.. i think the best time pulled was a 14.5

it was fun though.. run it.. get your time.. line up again.. run it again..
It was pretty much like skiing down the mountain to the lift chair during the first hour or so. You would run your 1/4 and then get back in line.

Like Insomniak said, it was everybodys first time at the 1/4 mile track. My best run was a 14.9.

The track was real grippy and I bogged on every run too. My four runs consisted of launching @ 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, and 8.5. Each time I dropped the clutch off the side of my foot, my RPMs would drop to 5k immediately because my Michelin Pilot Sports wouldn't spin period. Everybody else that could spin at the start were on the OEM tires.

What part of the diff is failing? Is it the R&P or the LSD? A Kaaz LSD would quite possibly cure the problem.

Unfortunately, I don't think Honda would classify this failure as a warranty repair given the other modifications to the vehicle.

Maybe this is an opportunity to get a stronger aftermarket differential that can handle the SC.
