And for a few freaks like me on this board, we'd love to tackle something like that, given the 5 or 10 bucks needed to get the illumination coloring piece or whatever. Some of us might even go as far as fabricating one ourselves.. like me..

This is the only picture I could find after a few minutes at images.google.com.. It doesn't really do the dash justice but it looks very slick at night.

an HUD is possible - many aftermarket suppliers have them.. and no i didn't look to see who they were yet, but i know of two shops locally that can order, and i've seen one in an ITR, and one in an RX-7 showcar that we did a big system in at work. my installer sunk it into the dash up top near the defroster vents - looked smooth, worked VERY well - that might be my next mod.
as for the dash, any word on what's going on with it? it seems to be dying out a little bit - a shame considering the massive interest!

Randy posted last night on it. I guess he's been busy with other things. Randy, would you be willing to scan in that plastic colored thing you took a pic of? I would love to try my hand at fabricating something like that. I could send it to you and maybe you could try it out, see how it looks.

I think that's a little too purple. Plus the orange and red at the bottom is all the same. I kinda would like all blue with a little purple here and there. It'd have to be tastefully done, if there is such a thing.

Randy,

As I mentioned early on in the thread, you should be able to replace that piece of plastic in your hand (3rd pic) with a thick piece of acetate from any office supply store. Use an inkjet printer to print your design on the sheet, cut, inatll, and enjoy. I'm sure it will take several attempts to get the colors right, and you'll probably go through half of an ink cartridge, but that's a small price to pay for a unique look.
