The car was up for some other work, so I decided to finally install the x-brace (I've had it several months!).
Not much to say about it, except it looks great. Too bad no one will ever see it.
The real question is will it do anything, other than add weight, and possibly force the engine to come straight back and crush my legs in a severe frontal collision?
I'll let you know if I can detect any positive benefit.

It does an OK job with the oil changes. Some oil gets on it as the last part dribbles out but it's easily wiped off with a rag. I highly recommend it though since I noticed a nice improvement on turn-in once I installed it.
You can always get a drain valve like the Fumoto. That way you can attach a hose for oil changes and never worry about cleaning up again. If the oil drips on it, it is easy to clean. Another thing you can do is fold some aluminum foil creatively. Very cheaper and easy to dispose of.
I installed the Digrappa and feel a tremendous difference. This car should come from the factory with this. Turnin is quicker, much less deflection on bumps. Here is an easy test. Find a 90 degree right hand turn that has a raise close to the inner curb. Take this turn at around 30 mph without the brace. Notice how the front wheels feel, the twisting movement of the front subframe that feels like the tires become uneven and then the the front hooks up right before the back end hooks up. Now do the same thing with the Digrappa brace on. You will feel nothing on the front end, it simply goes where directed in a surefooted and planted way that allows you to focus on the rear end (which now feels jiggly by comparison).
it's been said in previous threads that the x brace really doesn't cause the motor or chassis to do anything dangerous in a crash. does anyone remember that?
I'm pretty much sold. How difficult is the install? Can my two sons and I do it? We have a floor jack and jack stands, homemade ramps etc. We've installed the fumoto oil valve with the nipple so oil changes shouldn't be a problem.
