If I get my oil changed at a oilchange place they look forever then ask me if I know where it is.

Please tell me you don't go to Jiffy Lube with your S2K?

The first time I went to check the oil I was with my most gearheads of friends, and neither one of us could find the dipstick for about 2 mins. Of course 2 mins seems like 3 hours with your head under the hood. I tugged on the dipstick out of frustation, and sure enough there it was!

This is why the first thing you should do after getting your car is read the owner's manual

Can anyone explain to me why reading the dipstick is such a challenge for the F20C but not for any other Honda engine I have owned?

Because the engine is positioned diagonally.

And because with the S2000 we bother about correct readings!

So far I've won two "find the dipstick" bets. Each time I allowed as much time as they wanted. Both gave up and were especially aggravated when I revealed where it is.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the diameter of the tube the dipstick is positioned inside.

The very small tube seems to result in inconsistent readings. It could be that it takes the oil more time to fill up the tube due to it's small size.

Just a guess.
