Disassembly
Took off my windscreen to tinker with it. I want to take it apart to play with lighting and possibly etching the plastic, but I don't want to simply pull until something gives. Does anyone KNOW how to take apart the windscreen mount. Anyone installed the Ricks Aeroscreen?
Thanks

I recently installed the full-height Rick's. You're right to be cautious...removing the assembly from the secret compartment lid was trivial (two screws) but separating the clear piece from the bracket was one of those pry-with-putty-knife-but-not-too-hard kinds of operations. The bracket is held together with glue, and the actual windscreen is screwed into one of the bracket halves. (Reassembly involved more adhesive, and clamps.) Plenty of opportunity for an "oh, sh*t" moment.
PM me if you want all the gory details.
BTW,
on the Rick's screen...love it.

Thanks redhead. Actually I was looking to eventually get to something closer to this as my final product:

Clear during the day, lights white when you turn on your lights, and turns red when you hit the brakes. I have a logo that I want to get etched into the plastic. It matches my screenname and plates.

macguiver sells those. I'm sure he has good instructions and all. I'd check his website. http://www.hi-tecdesigns.com/
