I just left a dealer showroom in Irving, TX. The sales rep said the S2K has been discontinued. I can't find any support of this statement online. I have heard of this possibly happening. Can anyone fill me in on the latest news please?

Just by chance, did this dealer also have an S2000 sitting on the showroom floor that was marked up 10,000 dollars?

You better hurry and grab it, it's not in production anymore!

No, actually, no one really knows if it's going to stop this year. But that was the initial production of the car, two years. It's designed as a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Honda and was never intended to be a long term production car.

Would I be surprised (and happy) that Honda would stop making the S2000 this year? Oh yea...

Would I be surprised that your dealer knows anything at all about the S2000? Most definitely...

[green]CiscoKid: I don't buy it, even though it means every owner out there would suddenly have a collectors item. I called my sales person. She did say they were sold out for this year, but she would check on order availability for 2002. Call her if you like. Frank Kent Motor Co. Tonya 800-553-2111 Good Luck. Hope you get a shot at a blue one![/green]

I had a local a-hole dealer tell me that the S2000 was only going to be produced for the year 2000 (hence the name) and that there was only going to be 2000 of them (again, hence the name).

That was his justification for the 10k over sticker ream job.

I feel like going there (there is an 01 yellow on the floor) and telling the sales manager how full of crap he was and that because of it I went elsewhere for my business...

but you know what, for every (1) person like me that walks out, (10) more suckers come in and buy, so they really dont care if they dont get my business...
