This may be cold, but I've got mine, and I don't care; however, I do hope everyone who wants one gets it.

No, sorry to say, I don't recall where I heard this. I wish I could, but that was something that sticks out in my mind. It was probably from one of the many articles that I read about the car as it was about to be released...

Sorry I can't cite a source...

JD Power on-line stated in their review that this car was originally slated for a 2 year production run. I read their review of the car prior to purchase. Happily, I now live in my 2k1 s2k.

The president of American Honda when asked at the introduction in September 1999 said that it probably have a four year run but it would depend upon the demands upon plant capacity.

This was reported to me by a dealership owner that was there and heard the statement, and this is the only credible report on the model run I have seen.

.... We were told that the car would only last through one generation for certain, and that it would "probably" stick to the strick Honda guidelines of a 4 year production run, but that it could turn out like the NSX... Andrew
Can you imagine that? As other competitors revise their cars, the S2000 would stick around like the NSX? That would mean that in 5-6 years, we might have a 2.2 liter with slightly more power and the competition will have something better, but it still wont be an S2000

I still dig the NSX, even if its not tops in its class. I'd however hate to have a new NSX and someone pull up along side in a very similar looking old NSX. Just my opinion...

I thought that the 2 year run was
common knowledge? Every one here
is right, the car is a commemoration
of the 50th Anniversary S500. They
don't even have a plant for this car.
They are renting out space to build the
S2000. However, they are selling like
hotcakes and I would be very suprised if
they did discontinue it. I hope they do but
it just doesn't make sense why they wouldn't
want to make money. My question is, "It's
almost February of 2001, when the hell is
anyone going to say one way or the other?"
