Default Dissembling the tail light

Is it possible to pull the outer glass from the tail light to pull out the lenses? My friend has the "chromed" lens from a 03' and would like to swap it with his 01' S2K, if it's even possible.

Any help? TIA.

Yes it is possible to remove the clear plastic outer cover. Just follow the diffuser instructions from Ricks. It's harder to do, just be carefull pulling it apart because it will break, I know. Good luck

If your friend has the whole '03 tail light units, then why not just swap the units? Much easier than disassembling the tail lights and swapping the lenses.

On the other hand, if your friend only has the lenses with the rings from the '03, then you have already answered your own question "is it possible" because someone must have disassembled the '03 tail lights to remove the lenses.

^Actually the 03' lenses were taken out from a broken taillight. I guess dissembling the taillight isn't an easy DYI job.

well.. I think it's very very hard to take it out.. without melting the glue.
They are glued and clipped in.. ( I tried! with my broken taillight for fun..)
