Default DIY Hardtop fitting kit

Hey guys,

The Honda dealers charge over £700 ($1000) for the OEM side catchers. I have picked up an OEM hardtop but I'll be damned if Im going to pay that sort of money for the hard top catchers.

Has anybody fabricated a kit? I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of your DIY hardtop hardware kits.

Please dont suggest Hard Top guy.... I sent a PM 3 weeks ago and I still havent received a reply

If you don't need quick-release functionality, just get a 2-3mm steel plate and hammer it to shape. Drill holes for the 6 bolts or so that secure the top to the car.

Do a search, I've seen it here before.

That should be exactly what you're looking for, unless you really want to be able to take it off quickly.

Thanks Indosilver, but i am looking for a solution to use with the OEM hardtop's spikes. These are great if you're on the track or for security. I have been toying with the idea of making my own side catchers which will work with the OEM spikes, i just need a donor kit to take the measurements.

i'd watch the for sales for partouts or used/damaged softtops where you can snatch the old latches off a totaled s2000, pricing is no where near honda's $1000 ridiculous price tag...

This is what your looking for, I have a set installed, so if you want I can take the measurements for you. Let me know. Mark a,b,c,d etc points to measure for you fabricating.

But I'd go second hand if they come up for sale, as you can't beat the OEM quality.

these are like gold dust in the UK. very hard to find in the scrap yards. most dealers put them on ebay for around £500 for the pair. can you trace the outline and send me a full size template of each catcher please?
