i'd watch the for sales for partouts or used/damaged softtops where you can snatch the old latches off a totaled s2000, pricing is no where near honda's $1000 ridiculous price tag...
The hardtop has the fron catches, he is looking for the rear catches.

I've contacted him and Izzy's street version won't be ready till late next year....tentatively.

OP, I have an extra set that that VIS tops use. I just installed my OEM hardtop with one of the sets and it fits fine. The only problem is that it uses bolts so its not a simple latch mechanism for removal...but overall fit and finish are great.

PM me if you're interested.

[QUOTE=haroonsarwar,Dec 4 2009, 07:28 PM] Thanks Indosilver, but i am looking for a solution to use with the OEM hardtop's spikes. These are great if you're on the track or for security.

these are like gold dust in the UK. very hard to find in the scrap yards. most dealers put them on ebay for around £500 for the pair. can you trace the outline and send me a full size template of each catcher please?
No problem, BUT before I uninstall them, is it possible to enlarge the pics of them and then I can give you measurements to get the correct scale? or hole to hole measurement from the body should unfold the correct scale. Its just that taking them out totally and tracing them will take me some time. Just a thought.

Also, not to discourage you, as I have been in the same place as you when I did my HT project. Waiting for a set of OEM's would be the easiest path.

The mechanism where the OEM pins insert is like a cylindrical sleeve that has a groove sliced into it internally, that spirals downwards/ inwards, this is the part that tightens the HT down. This would be the hard part to replicate imo, the "body" of the catches I can see could be waterjet cut, but its this vital sleeve that you may have difficulty with. Do you have access to a good fabrication shop? Because this is where you may hit a "roadblock".

I was VERY fortunate to get 2 sets of OEM rears from the S2ki classifieds, 1 set for my HT (thanks to Ryan (Irish2K) ) and another from another sellor in Utah for a mate's HT.
Another mate got his set from HTG, but yes that took over a month and a fair bit of non-communication grief, but he finally got them.

So for sure let me know how I can assist as I have always wondered whether the OEM rears could be replicated, in my research I was told that a sellor/vendor could get replicas from China, I could put you on to him as well if you like. Bear in mind that he will charge though, how much I have no idea. In the end it's best to pay the $ and go OEM.

lmk.
