Looks like a rock chip managed to grow into a crack - that's what I get for letting it sit in my apartment parking lot for a week without a car cover. The heat generated in the car made it start to split, so sometime soon I'll need to get that replaced.

just let your insurance take care of it under the road hazard clause. take it to any winshield repair place and usually you pay less than your deductable.

Bummer. You are never going to get that Ferrari at this rate. Do you have "glass coverage" on your insurance? Typically covers at a lower deductable.

Last week, a hefty chunk of rock (courtesy of an SUV) took out a nice 1/4-inch round piece of my windshield. I'm hoping I can find one of those windshield repair specialists to fix it with their little magic kit, before it starts to spread.

http://www.statefarm.com/claims/shldrepr.htm my policy on repairs, but the whole thing. hrmmm, gotta 500 dollar deducatble, I'll check on the details later tonight.

sondra has a 'bullseye' crack in hers from last saturday's drive, should be fine, but probably will not suffice the cosmetics.
