Default Do problems start on the S2k after 50K

Hey guys, I was reading the holes in the top thread and a couple of guys were commenting that their cars had started acting up right around 50K miles. Now I am planning on getting a car that has 52K miles, should I be worried and should I be looking out for stuff.

A conditional NO. It depends mostly on the care which was provided by the previous owner. Are there maintenance records and receipts?

My S2000 has well over 50K miles, but I take care of it

The maint was done personally and most of the recalls have been done. Except for the tranny recall, how important is it to get done.

thanks guys

there is no tranny recall.

if it is the clutch buzz it is not important as that is not a mechanical problem. it is just annoying.

It's not a recall, its a technical service bulletin. It's an annoyance, not a mechanical problem as steven975 mentioned.

Even after having it (the TSB) performed, the noise still comes back.

I sure hope nothing happens after 50k, especially since I have 93k on mine now and still no major problems.......................except for the top wearing out from use and a poor design.

Besides the regular scheduled maintenance stuff and replacing a clutch and brake pads................it has been smooooooth sailing.

I have 56000 on my 01 and its still running strong. Its all about how you take care and maintain it. I asked this same question to a couple of my friends at over 100,000 miles and both said that the car had no issues what so ever. So thats great. No worries for me plus every part that needs service on in the 50,000 dealer check has been upgraded..That always helps..
