Windows up in general (if they are tinted or not) look funny when the top is down...

It does look goofy.

Even without tinted windows it looks goofy.

I drove top down, windows up once on a group drive. The wind was really bad out of the south, so going east or especially west it was like getting punched in the side of the head several times per mile without the windows up. Once I put my windows up, all was well.

word. I do this anyway. I think it doesn't really matter if the windows are tinted or not, its just the idea of riding with the windows up and top down that is kinda weird. I used to talk about peeps for doing it before I got my S, but now I do it myself. Its kind of a way to retain a bit of privacy with the top down- that is if they are tinted. My windows are 35% and I think it looks good.

Go with the 20%, you won't regret it.

I'm not trying to get a ticket for tinted windows, im already rolling around with no front plate. i think it looks good either way. but im not getting mine tinted up.

For those who have tint, do the installers have to put some sort of felt on the door weatherstripping to prevent the tint from getting scratched when you open and close the windows?

I have no front plate and 20% here in Cali, which is highly illegal- haven't been hassled in the 6 months I've had it.

No felt, haven't had any problems with scratching either. Tint is pretty durable stuff anymore. Worst case, it only cost about $60 to do both front windows.
