Default do u guys shift before or after the red lights start to blink?

just wondering.. i rev it all the way up until the red light starts blinking if im driving hard before i proceed to shift.. does that mean that im actually going past the redline? i know the rev limiter cuts in if u keep on going w/o shifting while the light starts to blink..

just hoping this isn't unhealthy for the car..

i love !!!!!!!

I shift right before it flashes. I think theres a large drop-off of power if you hit the redline. I could be wrong.

I didn't even know it blinks
If I'm having fun I'll usually cut it off at 8700

If I'm going all out (Like at the track) I shift after it blinks about 5 times. I try to get as close to the rev limiter as possible without bouncing off of it.

You are suppose to let in blink once or twice, at least when I watch those Japanese videos of the professional drivers that is what they do.

Its a gamble trying to get it to flash because if you dont get it in time you will hit the rev limiter and loose valuable momentum carrying into the next gear. This is especially hard when shifting out of first since the revs are going up so quick.

Its really not going to make any difference if you shift it before the red lights flash or after two and if you're on the track (not drag) then you'd be better served watching the road then making sure you got those extra 200rpms before shifting.

You might wanna invest in a Modifry Shift beeper to help you shift where you want each gear with out having to take your eyes off the road.

When I really push it hard, Redline...3 blinks...shift. Works great everytime.

I don't hit redline that often but when I do in first gear I find the gear change not to be very smooth. Is this because of my driving (letting the rpm drop before clutch out) or because there is such a long drop...from 9000 to 5900? It's much better from 2-3 and 3-4....less rpm drop? just wondering any input would be great

I ordinarily shift right below redline, say 8.8 or 8.9. I've really never noticed the light because it'd happen so fast and I'd be too busy keeping an eye on the road. I don't redline often though.
