Absolutely. The previous owner sends me pics of his current project and I send him pics of the S2000 every once in a while.

I've never had this with previous cars however... except the time a buyer texted me with threats, saying the car needed brakes and tires and wanted me to pay for them (although the car had JUST passed inspection)

I bought it from my sister's friend who is a honda mechanic. I still bring the car to him for maintenance and fixes, which he does for for a little labor and to cover parts.

Yes, I still contact previous owner. My old gpw has seen better days under my ownership, but it is what it is.
-hydrolocked motor, hit and runs, tire blow outs. Guess the new owner is having a bad spell with my old S.

The new owner of my car has my number. Though I've never heard from him. Probably running just like I sold it to him, like new!

Bought my 2002 from a NC dealer. The dealer was really protective of the previous owner's contact information. They said legally they couldn't give me the person's phone number or name. I only wanted to find out when maintenance was performed. I emailed the dealer my questions so they could ask the prior owner and then report back to me. The only thing the dealer did was call the prior owner who told them all maintenance was performed as required and that there were no issues with the car...end of conversation. Not overly helpful since the car is 12 years old with only 34K. In retrospect, I should have made getting a more detailed maintenance history a part of the transaction. Another little life lesson learned.

Wish I could. Mine was stolen from original owner and I bet he's still wondering where it is. Bought mine as a theft salvage.

I am in regular contact with the previous owner (fairly frequently now, since I just bought the car from him about a month ago)...

Even after the purchase, he was a pleasure to do business and carry a relationship with...

He gave me the driver's extended floormat (in addition to both standard OEM floormats), but told me that he had misplaced the passenter extended mat years ago. After the deal was done, and he had no further commitments to me, he told me that he was having a custom extended passenger floormat made for me. He paid for it and had it shipped directly to my address.

I have had to contact him a few times for historic background. Example: When the car was in the shop, they wanted to top off the brake fluid, but didn't know what brand of fluid was in the car (because it was clearly not Honda OEM fluid). He told me that he used StopTech racing fluid from Tire Rack.

I have put a hardtop on the car and sent him pictures of it (he had never seen his car with a hardtop on it before)...

I think we will continue an ongoing relationship over time, though not as frequent as the last few weeks, obviously...

Yep, and the previous owner is always happy to hear from me.
I contacted the buyer of my 90 CRX several years after the fact and he sent me pictures of his restoration. He then told me he sold it and it is now in Honolulu. I think its cool to trace the history of cars that you love. Researched the whole history of my S. Know everything that happened to it except for the time it spent in the Carolinas.

Yes I agree, I actually purchased mine from a local dealer that the previous owner traded it in for a new Honda Accord.

I posted in my s2ki section saying thank you for taking care of it, especially since the mileage was over 100k. He end up replying and we met up. It was cool to meet him especially after only owning it for 2-3 weeks we met up and he rolled up in a 2005 NFR S2000. He told me that he had the accord for a week and hated it.

In a nut shell there was some good things and bad things that the previous owner told me, That the dealer and carfax didn't inform me of.

All in all I am happy, the previous owner and I actually hang out sometimes now.
