i dont advise to do it....a friend did that for a few month before he got his plate...he avoided a few parking tickets, he was very happy so he decided not put on his new plates, Vin# still covered bya business card...a few mouth later his park car was towed...cop tired to give him a tik, cant....so he hadd it towed

I don't do it. I saw a news report that some professional thiefs can use the VIN# to get a duplicate key from the dealer. The report said that they pretended to be the owner. Anybody here bought a duplicate key before?? It can't be that easy, right? I hope you need more proof of ownership than just the VIN#.
