I did an track run with 330 lbs in the car and checked my speed at a certain point. Then I did the run again with 520 lbs in the car and I was at 65mph where I'd been at 85mph before. Handling was off too.

No question. The other day when I was picking up a load of living room furniture for the new place, I really noticed the handling and acceleration differences with the sofa on the roof and the loveseat strapped to the trunk! I can't believe how little room there was left in the trunk for carpets too!

Yep, handling was off and acceleration was definitely impacted.
