I'm perfectly safe in the car, I would even argue that the S is safer than an SUV because it can avoid accidents better. When I wrecked my parents truck, I was basically attempting to swerve like I would have in the S but high CG = epic fail so its SAFER because its quick and nimble

never felt unsafe at all. I guess I may be a little preoccupied with the driving experience since it is a toy and sits in the garage except for when i actually feel like driving it.

Well you'll have a lot less problems with your S2000 than you will with a german car I always feel safe in an S2000 because you have such control over the car. I might not be high up like in an SUV, but if I need to move quickly, accelerate or slow down it can be done much easier. This is when the "driver" mod comes into play
i completely agree, especially with the driver mod!

I've avoided several accidents that I feel if I had been in a different car... would've ended in an accident. stupid people on the road.... but luckily the s moves and reacts quickly.

I never feel "safe", I feel less or more likely to get seriously injured.

I have been interested in the Honda S2000 for some, but my main concern is safety. Do any of you ever get nervous about accidents?
I always pay attention in all directions when driving since maneuverability is the best safety feature of the S2000 but I've never been nervous about the S2000's safety. I certainly don't worry anywhere near as much as when I had a motorcycle. It's a common mistake to assume that bigger is always better in accidents. The S is very well rated.

I was very concerned at the time of purchase that all the trucks and SUV's that we have here in Texas wouldn't see me and would just change lanes over me but that has rarely been an issue so far.

Im also in the market for S2k's (waiting for winter, for the prices) but i currently have a Mini cooper S and i drive it like im driving my R6.

Just always be aware. im sure the s2000 and mini are excellent in safety but still compared to a f-350 superduty with a trailer full of lawn equipment its gonna just get slammed and you might not fare so well.

to be honest at first with the top down taking corners hard where the slight possibilty of rolling the car kinda freaked me out, but im getting used to it now.

It has great crash test ratings...and great acceleration to stay away from other drivers

I never feel unsafe, but I know a lot of people who would hate to drive my car...I'm almost low enough to tuck under an 18 wheeler's trailer without incident (i wouldn't try it, but my roofline is that low ). In all honestly it comes down to you. Do you feel safe in smaller vehicles?
