Default Do you feel safe?

Hello,

I am new to these forums. I am a potential S2000 Buyer. I have just sold my 2004 BMW 330ci and looking to move on. I have been interested in the Honda S2000 for some, but my main concern is safety. Do any of you ever get nervous about accidents? Iv been searching and have read that the S2000 has good safety features but do you guys ever get worried that a truck rear ends you? Any feedback would be great.

Stay completely out of blind spots, also stay in the left lane and don't let anyone pass you

Seriously... it is a small and tight car. When you are in traffic next to a semi with the top down your head is at the top of the tires. Even on cars like the Audi Q7, you are looking at the door handles. It doesn't bother me, but it does make the wife a touch nervous.

Accidents are rare, pure driving enjoyment is every day. Go for it!

I suppose the better question to ask is "Are you in fact safe?". And after seeing pictures of wrecked S2000s, and rarely hearing of either driver or passenger injuries beyond scrapes and bruises, I would gather that you are safe in an S2000.

I was driving on the freeway once and saw this big ass SUV pacing me... that sort of shit pisses me off. Then I realized it was an HHR. I look level to 18wheeler tires.

Yeah it's a small car, but I think she's pretty safe **Knock on wood**

I rarely think about it. I feel as safe in the S2000 as I do in my GTI, more or less. My guess is the only vehicle that's going to be much safer in a rear-end collision from a truck is another truck or SUV -- I think most passenger cars would get roughed up pretty good.

The S2000 also feels a lot safer than my '99 Miata did. Low doors, low trunk, no roll hoops -- spooked me a bit to drive the Miata on the highway.

I got t-boned on my drivers side by a old school suburban at 30 mph and walked away perfectly fine. So i think the s2000 is pretty safe.

Well you'll have a lot less problems with your S2000 than you will with a german car I always feel safe in an S2000 because you have such control over the car. I might not be high up like in an SUV, but if I need to move quickly, accelerate or slow down it can be done much easier. This is when the "driver" mod comes into play
