Default Do you like "running".

"Running" isn't racing, its when you meet up with another one or two or three sportscars and drive, one behind the other, at speed down the road. Usually the meeting is by chance. Sometimes it lasts only until the next exit, sometimes it lasts for a number of miles.

There is something very special about a few sportscars "running" at speed. If you are in the middle or the back of the pack the sound of the exhaust is intoxicating.

Generally, I find myself running with Corvettes and Porsches. Sometimes with BMWs and sometimes with 350Zs among others. I find it to be a lot of fun.

Definitely!
One Sunday afternoon last summer, we stayed behind a red C5 for many miles on our favorite winding country road. Nothing crazy; we both slowed down when we had to, then picked up the pace again when all was clear.
I'm always looking for opportunities like that. I like to think some sort of brother- and sisterhood exists among performance car drivers (at least it does in my mind).
As to the other thread about everybody else wanting to race you -- Oy. Don't get me started...

I used to have an Alfa, and one of the Alfa club meets was about 150Mi away. 5-6 of us "Ran" together all the way there. It was a blast. We were doing make-shift formations on the road, like chevrons and arrows. Changing leaders all without any form of communication except our eyes. It was very cool. How cool? I can;t seem to remember where the meet was, or what we did when we got there.

Ahhhh running is the best....Its the best way to make long trips short.....did a 1200 mile florida run in 17 hours with gas and food stops in my gti. Running with all sorts of cars....and two killer 18 wheelers in GA. Them there Trucks really move in Dixie land! cb works wonder south of the mason line! Latest runs at speed but not racing two this week
one with an m3 e46, boxster s and me. Then another run with a turbo supra
both fun and safe and both ended in the gentlemen head nod!

Fall colors is all about fun runs had a good one on the way back from auto-x with seven s2000 and an integra type r. Hell even going to get gased up is a fun run at fall colors!

Good call ralper...."Running" Is amazing. Its great when ya start with another car an as ya go more cars enter the fun. High beams to let others in when they get bogged down ...It just all about keeping that train of killer cars moving.

It also makes ya skip your exit sometimes.....Its just such fun!

I find that to be true. When one of the cars leaves there is always a wave or a nod or a beep of the horn. Sort of an acknowledgement of the brotherhood/sisterhood of performance car-sportscar owners.

Running is a ton of fun. When I was in Halifax for the summer last year, I went out on a long drive by myself one day along the shore. This is an extremely winding road, tons of fun (I had a smaller, lighter car with sport suspension and Z-rated tires), especially since my wife wasn't there to tell me to slow down.

Anyways, I had the good luck to come across 12 guys driving Corvettes on my way back (along the same road) - for about 40 miles, I was behind or between 12 big V8s (everything from 70s to 02 Vettes). Musical heaven!

I've only done it once with a guy in a black Z3. We went for about 3 miles before I took my exit.
