Wow, I started this thread 2 years ago. I just happended to check my e-mail notification from s2ki and had to pop in and see what people were saying in my old thread. Still reversing the same way and the Hardtopguy Clutch Kit is still going strong with 50k on it!

I usually don't release clutch pedal fully, just enough to get it rolling backwards on flat roads. Since installing a 6 puck clutch, I can't really feather the clutch going up hill or such like my driveway. Burn the clutch bad that way. I would have to fully let off on the clutch before starting on the incline. This is the same for me in 1st or reverse.

I don't think I've ever reversed with my clutch fully out. I should never be going that fast in reverse.

Double clutching is a waste of time. Some of you guys think you're extending the life of the transmission, but its really pointless. Are you going to care if the transmission lasts 300k instead of 250k? You won't even have the car by that point or something else will have broken.

I've got a GS-R with 280k and I've never double clutched it. Transmission is still as good as the day it was new. If it lasts 300k+ without double clutching, then who cares if it lasts a little longer if you had double clutched.
I hear that said by people who can't do it properly, and therefore dismiss it as unnecessary. It isn't necessary, but it does make a difference.

only place I really let the clutch out all the way is when backing out of my driveway, about 80ft. Once however in another car, I not only let the clutch out all the way but I gave it a good amount of gas (well that I do a lot, but this next part only happened once) I clipped my garbage can and took off my side view mirror. My neighborcame out to see what that loud sound was, then my GF came out to see what the loud sound was, very embarassing.
