Do you plan to SC?
For those interested, I'm at 10000 miles, with the last 3000 with the supercharger. No problems but a lot of frightened Mustangs and Integras.
The car is going to hit the solo circuit this Sunday the 11th and the race track the 24th. I'll be happy to keep everyone updated.

Nah, AFC-VTEC won't cut it. What is needed is an ECU which is capable of sensing boost and providing fuel enrichment and timing retard appropriately. Drop-in conversions exist for other Hondas and hopefully for the S2K in the future.
Don't mean to step on the toes of any Comptech SC owners, but any, and I mean any, forced induction system added to a factory normally aspirated car that uses a boost dependent fuel pressure regulator for enrichment and has no provision for timing retard is inadequate IMHO. That means that Jackson Racing, Drag Turbo, TRD, etc. all fall into this category and I own one of the former, so I'm not playing favorites here. Furthermore, I don't believe simple timing retard is enough (ala MSD BTM), the whole timing curve needs to change (reference Comptech's issues with detonation when adding more boost lower in the rpm range).
If all you plan on using the system for is the occasional street confrontation, drag strip pass, etc. then I'm fairly certain you'll be just fine and grinning ear to ear - Toyota wouldn't factory warranty their systems if this weren't the case. But if you plan on spending time circuit racing or in extended boost applications, then you are rolling the dice (not saying there will be problems, especially at only 4-5 psi, but the risk rises dramatically).
One only need look at instances of detonation under hard running/high speeds with TRD supercharger kits (particularly on the 3.4 liter 4runners). Or if you like, some of the issues associated with JR kits in the past. While I give Comptech all the credit in the world for being a top flight engineering organization, I'd be much happier if they provided a bit more with their kit - I'd also be willing to pay more for it if they did. I also reckon there would be significant improvements in power.
I've had to deal with the very issues I've discussed with other forced induction Hondas and wish I hadn't(not to mention cooling issues, throttle tip in issues, excessive fuel pressure issues, etc.). It isn't fun, but if they are addressed properly, a mildly boosted, otherwise stock Honda engine can work well in any application including circuit racing, top speed trials, etc.
Anyways, my post has gotten very off topic. If anyone wishes to discuss issues and solutions, it would probably be more appropriate in the Under the Hood forum.

I'm getting the supercharger probably within the next couple of months. I'd say a good estimate is in 2 months. I'm getting my sc installed from my dealer. They said if they do the install I will keep the warranty on the engine. =) So I'll have warranties with comptech and honda. What more can a guy ask for? If you want to know the dealership I'm getting it done at it's Herson's honda in Rockville, Maryland.
I think I'll spend about 30% of what the SC costs and get an extended warranty. The car is fast enough for me as it is; I don't need another 100 hp because I plan to keep this stook for many, hopefully trouble -free years. No warranty, not even Comptech's, will cover the engine if it craps out because of the SC.
Hi Ultimate Lurker
Another member of this board with a Comptech Supercharged S2000 was kind enough to give me a ride in his gorgeous car. There are DEFINITE driveability issues with the Comptech SC! Although the car is a rocket in 3rd and 4th gears, it stumbles so badly in 1st and 2nd on tip in that both he and I agree that my NA S2000 is quicker in 1st and 2nd. I was very surprised. He told me that Comptech is aware of the issue and is working to remedy the problem. I don't know if their SC has this problem in other folks' S2Ks, but until it's sorted out, I have to agree with you, UL. I hope Comptech fixes our friend's car so he can get the same rush out of the lower gears he gets in the uppers.
