I'm thinking of gears, and also doing the 4.77 or 4.57 dilemma. I think something like a 4.57 may positively help, but a 4.77 would be too much as far as RPMs go.

Any Mods lower the value of the car unless you find a buyer who wants exactly what you have done. Modded cars also tend to be driven harder then other cars. I have a pristene 19991 300zx twin turbo I just picked up. For 1300.00 I can bump the HP to 400 and keep the stock reliability. I am not sure yet if I will keep the car. The car is going up in value since low mileage examples are getting very hard to find. If I mod it to 400 HP I drop the value 25%.

I've thought about this a lot as well. I guess it would be easy to swap out the diff. Honestly the only way I could see it really being a problem is if u got a sudden urge to upgrade and got a good offer on a trade-in for your car or something.
On a side-note, would anyone consider not saying anything? When you trade-in a car do you sign anything saying there are no hidden mods? I honestly don't remember the last time I traded in a car there was so much to sign I forget. Not that I would do this, just curious if anyone has bought a car and had gears done from the previous owner and had no idea. lol . . .
