does the 04 brake pads stop better

Default does the 04 brake pads stop better

would it be inadvisable for the 04 to go with 03 pads? and many say that oem makes the least dust. is that true?

Yeah, the '04+ compound dusts a lot more.

For street driving, I never noticed any difference.

No, it isn't true.
The least brake dust is PBR Deluxe Plus. I had it on E430 and after several weeks without washing the car, I did not see any brake dust on any wheel. But the braking performance is not as good as OEM.

So do the '04 brake pads handle more heat than the <= '03 pads?
