Just wondering if anybody has this on their stook. I'm planning on getting the viper 600 with the proximity (radar) sensor along with 2 extra small sirens. Any thoughts on this alarm or should I go with something else.

I have the Viper 300 with the prox. sensor. I have not had any false alarms. The only problem with the Viper sensor (unless it has changed since last summer) is that it is larger than the Clifford and if you put it in the console they have to cut a bit. Also you cannot adjust the sensitivity with the remote (I think the Cliffords can). There are adj. screws on the prox. sensor but I haven't tried to change them.

I had mine wired so that it sits in the glove box and is held in place with velcro.

I am satisfied with it. The cost including installation was only $275.

Not sure what the 600 offers in addition but I find that the 300 with the sensor is ok for me.

I have the Viper 550ESP with Proximity sensor in my Acura TL. I love it! Has great distance and reliable. It is true that you can't adjust the radar with remote, only on the unit. Viper also comes with lifetime warranty.
As for my S2K, I'm not getting Viper. Getting Alpine SEC-8063 with dual sector digital radar sensor. Chose Alpine for the better radar capabilities than Viper. More expensive though!

Socal28,

Do you have any details on the Alpine system? Do you know where they can mount the console unit or where to locate the proximity sensors?

Is anyone else having trouble find the Clifford alarms? They stores that used to advertise them no longer have them.

Thanks,
Tanq

I'm having a very hard time trying to find the cliffords. I had a 1993 integra with the clifford on it, GREAT alarm. So I wanted to put it on my s2k however nobody carries them anymore. Clifford went out of biz and DEI (Viper) took over but not very many dealers are installing them. I'm undecided on which alarm to put on my s2000. It seems like not very many people are responding to this question. I'm sure most s2k's have an alarm on them. I wasn't gonna go with the honda alarm because they suck and overpriced. So I'm wondering how are people protecting their s2k.

Tanqueray,
I'm getting my alarm installed this Thursday. I'll post details and maybe pics after that. I'm not sure where the installer is going to put everything.

Don't know if you guys have CarToys, but they sell Clifford, as does Magnolia HI-FI...

If its getting harder to find, and Clifford is now absorbed by DEI, should you avoid a Clifford? I know they are a bit spendy, but seemed to have really cool features. For example, the radar adjustment via remote...

I'm alarmless, but would sure like to see how people's selections go...

I'm getting the Viper 600ESP with proximity (radar) sensor put on my s2k tomorrow. I have the viper 600 on my 2000 accord rite now and works great, however I don't have the radar on it. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. The way I figure haveing an alarm is better than none at all. I was gonna go with the alpine 8063, but I had a '93 4runner with the radar sensor on it and wasn't too pleased about its performance, also a little more pricier.

I had a Viper w/radar sensor in my silver S2000, and was very pleased with it. The sensor will fit behind (kind of underneath) the center console compartment. Remove the center plastic piece (the one with the ashtray), then remove the lower screws that hold the center console compartment. You should be able to get the radar sensor below the compartment. It will then be totally hidden and out of the way. No cutting invloved.

I would have put another viper in my new yellow S2000, but the factory alarm was a "forced option".
