Default Does anyone here have a FAST S2000?

I dont mean a low 13 second car, or even a 12 second car. Do any of you break into the 11's? Just curious to see how excatly you've dont it. When im at the track I see a pathetic showing of S2000 running 15's...

How would one go aboutu doing it? how many HP do you actually need to break into the 11s? I'd assume the S/C alone wont get you out of the 13's. Just curious.

Easiest way to get an S to give you 11's?

1. Sell S2000.
2. Buy used Firebird.
3. Spend about $1000 on mods
4. Enjoy the ride.

I'd say you need to be one of those guys with 20psi and a built motor. Of course, the few I have spoken with dont drag their cars much because they dont want to break their diff ect. I wouldnt drag it either if it were mine. cjb80's car with 400+whp should hit 11's easy. I assume the same for ChrisD ect and those other lunatics, I mean, innovators! its not hard, you just need money, a built motor, and a turbo, thats it.

also, the last time I checked, hitting say, mid to high 12's is very fast, unless you happen to see AND race Murcielago's, Vipers, F40's, ect.

So basically I ended up buying a car that doesnt have the potential to be fast. Its quick, but not fast. 12's are OK but most of the cars out there, can just throw a boost controller and full exhaust and run low 12's. I know if you go on the Rx7 board MOST of the guys on there are an AVERAGE of 12.5... Thats just BPU Intake exhaust downpipe sometimes a computer is good... Rip out the cat for a straight pipe and your set in the 12's easily without half a problem. Supras all you hav eto do is pull the waste gate hose and you are in low 12's

I guess I ended up in a cruising car and not a fast car. You can make a pinto do 11's for a ton of money but thats dumb. Same with this car alot of money isnt worth it when you can get another car and do the same thing for less.

Wished it were easy to get the car to move out. But as far as a turbo and whatever else needed with a fully built motor goes its really not all that worth it for the 1 second you will drop off your time.

I'm still just amazed that my friend Roger has an 800RWHP supra and he didtn spend all that much money on it. HKS twins front mount boost controller VPC AFC full exhaust and thats about it. 800 RWHP... Car will run in thet 10's with NO problem at all. Rx-7's run in the 10's with 500 RWHP. I have a friend Jon who has a black Rx7 with a front mount, T78 ported motor intake full exhaust and computer. He's good for 10's.

Just sucks thats all.. Corvettes will always beat me

You should enjoy your car for more than just accelerating in a straight line. Your car is a fabulous track or autoX car!

If all you are looking for is a fast drag, then sell the S2 and buy a new SVT Cobra and call it a day.

Dude,
The car is fast but not when it goes in a straight line. I bet you can run circles around supras and rx-7 that do 11 sec on a straight line..... This is because the car was designed to go fast on a circuit - autox - road course. IMO, who cares with a car goes fast in a straight line, The last I checked, road have corners........
