Default Does Anyone Know?

ok fellas, i know i asked this before last month but here goes...I asked last month if it was normal for the injen cai to make a whistling noise and everyone told me it was normal. I was talking to a friend last night and he also said it was normal BUT i also forgot to mention that it isnt only when i "get on the throttle". Even for regular driving (at low rpms) i get a slight whistling that i can only hear with my shotgun window down. I forgot to mention this on the last post i did and i know a whistliing sound is normal right before you hear the "suction" noise, but is it also normal at low rpms? when the gas is just slightly pressed? Thanks again for any help.

When I had my AEM CAI, I heard the exact whistling noise you are describing. I believe its normal as I checked all of my connections and everything was perfect. It ended up being one reason I got rid of it

It makes the noise because the air filter is busy sucking air into the intake and through the throttle, very normal and certainly it would give you under some impression that it's a good design and a working proof ... Though your air filter will no doubt be quite dirty with constance operation.

takashi, yes, you are correct.

after every 5-6,000 km, my filter needs cleaning - it's a pain in the ass!

btw, i have 50,000 KM on my car.

If' you've ever put your hand near the intake when you rev your engine and see how much air it's sucking in, you'll understand the whistling sound better.... or at least why it whistles through the air filters
