If I noticed that on a car in front of me, I'd be more inclined to risk getting closer to it or being more careless while parking.

Pretty soon, all the new cars with rear view cameras should have some sort of record feature when it is triggered by a collision. Unfortunately, unless your region has front plates, even this feature would not help with hit and runs.

It looks horrid but very functional I say buy it if it gives you some peace of mind while you're parked. But don't drive around with it attached to your bumper. It'll look like you have a load in your pants

either buy or find two bright colored traffic cones and place them on the front and back of your car.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this. You only put this on while you're parked. You don't go driving around with it. It's VERY easy and quick to put on. Open the trunk, lay the straps in there, close the trunk. Done.

I think it's a pretty good idea IF you must parallel park in the city. I don't park there, so I guess I'm lucky. Don't know how well it would hold up to a SUV bumping the car though. Our cars are pretty low.

Just this week I saw this product hanging over the rear bumber of an SUV in my complex. To me it looks like its not offering any protection what-so-ever except for loading and unloading of the trunk to prevent scrapes from dirtbags and groceries and suitcases.
