You guys are missing my Point. Parking on the street leaves my car vulnerable to being tagged on a daily basis.
Perhaps I should show up in my cubicle at work in football armor and helmet on a daily basis.

I think people would see and say "hey it's protected" so they will give your bumper a love kiss all the time so that they can park easier.

Well at least thats the way I see it.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of this. You only put this on while you're parked. You don't go driving around with it. It's VERY easy and quick to put on. Open the trunk, lay the straps in there, close the trunk. Done.

I think it's a pretty good idea IF you must parallel park in the city. I don't park there, so I guess I'm lucky. Don't know how well it would hold up to a SUV bumping the car though. Our cars are pretty low.

Everyone is comenting about how it looks etc. It takes maybe 5 seconds to put on, not like the front bra that you keep on your car all the time.

While some people may see it as protected and be less careful when parking, honestly this isn't the issue. Most people who hits cars while parallel parking don't look at the car in front of them and certainly aren't paying enough attention to notice this thing and think to themselves "oh, that thing protects their bumper".

I say go for it. Bumpers are pretty resilient from any kind of dents (they are plastic after all), so this will protect them from scratches which is the whole point.

^ I agree! my "beater" car has so many scratches, scuffs, and small indents (from other peoples license plate screws) on BOTH bumpers from parking on the street for years. If I had to park my s on the street on a daily basis I'd definantly get one. Who cares what it looks like when it's parked on the street, something like this will keep it looking nicer for longer and will elimate the heartache of bumper bruises.

yea, someone is going to be like... "ohh he has a bumper bully on there, i can give him a little love tap and he won't notice"

rather than someone being careful of your car and hitting it by mistake.

You all have some good points.

The S will be stored for the winter probably around Halloween. We have the Fit that I will drive daily at that point. Us having 2 cars in the city allows us to juggle and "save" good spots for the S, where nobody will be parked in front of me.

I am trying to minimize the knicks in the meantime.

And if you think I would be caught dead driving with that poop sack hanging off my rear, you are crazy

This is what I never understood. People buy those black "Bras" to save the front of their car from damage. Now I see people all over the roads with these things hanging off the back of their cars. All of this to make sure the car dosent get damaged<-- so it will look better. But everything people do to perserve the good look of their car makes the car ugly. Why bother? one step foward two steps back.
Couldn't agree more.
