Does anyone run 87 or 89 octane and do ok with it??
I know 91 is recommended. who is getting away with running 85, 87 or 89 and what results are you getting? Noticing any problems?

Why do that to the car? I am sure you can get away (not fully) with using lower grade gas, but don't. Do what is recommended, i doubt that honda engineers put a premium sticker there just to look cool. If you want to use lower grade gas, get a miata.

Don't be so cheap!
I figure if you are saving even 20 cents per gallon, you are actually driving for only 1 cent per mile less, if your car is averaging about 20 mpg. If you saved 10 cents per gallon that works out to 1/2 cent per mile your saving! Put in at least 91, your car will thank you.

Hi:
Why is this complicated? Put 91 in, or the nearest higher octane rated gas. My guess is that the ECU retards things enough you wouldn't get pinging, but buying a car with one of the highest compression rates out there, and then throwing 85 octane gas in it is like buying Caviar and serving it with a $3 bottle of sparkling wine.
