Default Does changing clutch help with notchy tranny?

I have MY00 and it is really clunky and notchy and I shift.. especially 1-2 and2-3
I drove my friend's AP2 and it is butter smooth compared to mine..
I actually have to put in some effort to shift unlike my friend's AP2 which I can shift so easily..
Is it because I have a MY00 and it's supposed to be like this?
and yes, I have changed tranny fluid not long ago which didn't help at all

I will be changing my clutch soon, so I was wondering if that could help with notchiness and make shifting at least little bit smoother. (yes I press clutch all the way)

I have been thinking that it's not normal and have been thinking about getting AP2 tranny but don't want to risk spending all that money..

If I wanted to do anything to tranny to make it smoother, what's the next best option before replacing the tranny...would replacing all the synchros make it smooth like AP2?

change your tranny fluid first and see if that helps.

my MY01 is a little notchy from 3-4 sometimes even when warmed up. i changed my tranny fluid no more than a month ago (honda MTF) but i heard that stuff gets smoother with time. anyway, with almost 60k miles on the OEM clutch disc, i'm about to change mine soon. if anything it'll get rid of that clutch buzz, hopefully.

Change your transmission fluid and flush your clutch system and you will feel a world of difference.

let someone else in your area drive it. it's likely that the transmission feels the way it's supposed to but you think it's too notchy

good luck

looks like im not the only one, drove my friends ap2 and the gears just fall into place while i have to struggle to get mine in and slowly so it wont grind 2nd or 3rd.

77Miles on the OEM clutch.. gonna replace it soon and get trans. fluid and pray the trans gets smoother in shifts.

How many miles you got on?

since you got a MY00 i guess its time for a new clutch.

I have 64000miles and I "rarely" grind gears it's just that it's not smooth and have to put effort between shifting..more than I would like..
