Do you ever feel like everyone is trying to hit your car? I have had bad karma all day.

This morning on the way to work, I had about 3 incidents of trying to change into the same lane as other cars ... all within about a 2-mile stretch.

At lunch, I was making a left turn at an intersection with an Escalade barreling towards me at about 45 mph. I knew I could make it no problem, but I had the A/C on (yes, it was a bit warm at lunch with the top down), and the car just totally dogged in 1st gear. I thought it was going to stall for sure.

Going into Arby's for my Super ... some dork in an Expedition almost backed into me as I was driving through the parking lot ...

On the freeway going back to work, this stupid Betty was yapping away on her cell phone in a beat-up Geo Metro and swung right into my lane - right next to me ...

And honestly, I think every construction truck, semi, and landscaping-mobile in Southern California was on the exact same stretch of freeway I was driving on.

: prays for improved karma for the drive home :

I pray for your karma too. And all S owners in socal. The land of the idiot driver (who drives a car too big for them). Everyone here drives as if they are the only person on the road. The whole SUV fiasco is socal's fault IMO. Drivers here are the most selfish lot I've encountered yet, driving alone in in a SUV that seats 7, cel phone in one hand, can of opened dumbass in the other.

That's why you need airhorns!!! You can definitely take out some of that frustration by using them.

I'm driving around in a Ford Focus today and that car gets NO respect. I was severel cut off by a semi on the freeway.

I really think the S2K is just a small car that is hard to see.

Good luck on the way home Kathy.

I often feel like you do. There are so many morons out there asleep at the wheel.
For basic transport a beater is the only way to travel around here. I would LOVE to own a nice road bike but it (actually they) would certainly be the death of me.

The most frightening feeling is to be stopped at a traffic light and see a huge SUV approaching in your mirror. The driver with a cell phone pressed to his/her ear. Oh my God, is he/she going to stop? How much damage will I have?

Happens every day.

A toss up: red or yellow for safety (don't get hit) ... or black for stealth (don't get a ticket). Guess which I picked.

I haven't noticed it any other day but today, so I'm pretty sure it's one of those karma things. It's like having the dropsies, right?

Hey, the same thing happens to me when I drive my SUV. Just a bunch of numb skulls out there who shouldn't be.

Best of Luck Kathy.

as a full size SUV driver myself, I know it's hard for the SUV driver to see a low height car like the S2000 in their rear view mirrors sometime if the S2000 is very close to the rear of the SUV. But the biggest danger is many ppl who drives full size SUV/Pickup Truck are either driving very aggressively or driving without paying too much attention to the road. And all this does give full size SUV drivers a bad image...

when I am driving my S or my parent's car, I will always pay extra attention to the large size cars around me, not only the SUVs, pickup trucks but also cars like S-class, 7 series, Towncars....

be safe
