Ohhhhh, ouch! That hurts me just looking at your crumpled car ...

Luckily, my drive home last night was okay. Wicked is safely in the garage this morning slathered with Zaino ...

Nick, I hope you get your car fixed perfectly, it looks cool with the Rick's badges and red calipers!!

The thing that really scares me here in Austin is when stopping for a light. If a light turns yellow and I can stop without slamming on the brakes (a reasonable stop), I will. It seems that about 5 others in Austin are the only ones that do. Everyone else accelerates when it turns yellow and I'm often waiting for the intersection to clear several seconds into a green light in my direction when the cross traffic decides to push the yellow light.

Where this is a problem is that since I actually obey the traffic light, I put myself in danger when others are behind me. Often they assume that I'm going to run the light, and are surprised when I choose not to run it. I've had several near collisions as the bozo behind me has to slam on his brakes because he/she assumed I would run the light (everyone else does, it seems). Rather disconcerting when the car behind me is an SUV.

The worst is when they honk at you. They're basically pissed because you chose not to break the law. I'm sorry, but I refuse to break the law so someone else can save himself/herself a light cycle.

I have a theory that's drawn from my personal experience. Wondering whether anyone else had the same experience.

When you are driving on the road behind a flashy car (like the S ) ), or behind a car of your dream, your concentration goes off and you start looking at the car in front ( or the chick driving it ). I have misjudged the braking distance a few times in these occasions and had to brake a bit harder than usual to avoid kissing the other car's butt. (imagine what will happen on wet road and the car you are driving does not have ABS)

If this phenomenon is real, then we'd better becareful, as our S2ks all have a bull's eye on the back........

Brighter is always better. I am EXTREMELY pleased with how people notice the car in traffic and don't pull out or come close to hitting you.

This is my first yellow car, and it's amazing how it gets the attention of even the laziest drivers, which are the ones you want to avoid you.

Last year I saw two different school bus accidents where the driver hit a big yellow bus. So anything is possible!
