Default Does name brand count?

I've been doing a lot of research on the header for the s2k...all of them say about a 10 to 15 hp increase... The comptech and mugen are hella pricie compared to the DC...on ebay, the dc are only 250.00....what do you guys think? Is the better name brand better then the lower name brands? If they are all the same, i would just rather get the DC then any other header... What do you guys think?

I would lean towards Toda or J's for a header. Be advised that gains will be likely minimal if you are N/A.

There is a reason that DC header is $250 while almost everything else is closer to $1,000 and up.

I think the yen to dollar conversion rate has just a little bit to do with this as well...

IIRC the DC Sports header will produce no gains, its just lighter. Some have even claimed it flows worse than the OEM header so you'll lose horsepower.

The Comptech, Mugen, Ricks 6 Plus, J's, Toda, etc have shown to produce some gains even though they're minimal in N/A form, and they're also lighter. So its up to you ... If you want a mod for the sake of saying you have a DC Sports header, then go for it. You probably won't do anything whether positive or negative to the car except lighten it slightly ...

Personally I'd go for the Ricks 6 Plus header for bang for your buck. See www.rickss2k.com

I personally like the Toda since when modding an S2k I'm all about top-end power. Adding midrange is great and all, but I bought a 9k rpm revving machine for a reason.

I have the big buck Toda. It's a fine looking piece - VERY purdy! But I don't spend a lot of time with my hood open and staring it. For FI, maybe I see that kind of gain, but for NA, it's VERY purdy!

I'm a strong believer in that alot of it your just paying for the big names, but, the reason they have earned the big name is because they are renowned for quality and will usually stand over there products, but with n/a cars the big performance gains they all quote are usually far off fact to say the least! Usually your paying for the name! but your usually best to avoid the cheap cheap sh*t!!
