Torsen LSD's are very much "real" closed diffs/limited slip diffs.

There are many types of LSDs, viscous (370z), torsen (S2k, Audi quattro), Helical (FWD usually, DC5R), Clutch Type (OS Giken.)

They all achieve a similar goal in varying ways.

^ thats because it is a miata diff. Our diffs were sourced from mazda by honda.
That is not true. It was not sourced from Mazda.

Mazda doesn't make LSD. in fact, the gears were not sourced from them either. Now the design is the same. EATON manufactured the LSD for both Honda and Mazda. They also make them to many other cars/manufactures.

The Honda LSD and Mazda LSD both will support a 7" ring gear. However the internal splines are different. I don't remember of the top of my head, what the spline counts were, but I know for a fact they are differant.

That's what I really like about S2K. Anything that you really need for performance is already in there standard: extremely stiff chassis, decent tires, larger rear tires, high volume intake, high flow dual exhaust, nice seats with shoulder support, torsen diff, etc. Most of these are offered as options on many other similar cars; such as BMW Z4...

My bad, i was always informed they were indeed from the miata The one thing that is true is they are the weakest link in the driveline
