I put a Rick's brace on my '05. There's not an earth-shattering difference, but I will say that the front end feels a light tighter overall and turn-in is a lot crisper. Some will say it's worthwhile and others will say it's not. I like it and would do it again.

I literally have to drive over the same potholes to and from work on a daily basis, and I can literally differentiate each pothole with my eyes closed. After adding Rick's brace to my S, the front end seems to absorb the holes and cracks a lot better and feels a lot less loose. I also love the fit and finish of it.

The consensus from the vast majority is that the x-brace is indeed a worthwhile addition on any year model S2000. You will find very few dissenting voices on this board.

Here's one to also consider...

I feel it never hurts to have more chassis rigidity, but to go and say if it's worth buying has a lot to do with what you do with the car...

Hard driving like taking turns will slowly flex the body and framework of a vehicle and strengthened chassis can prevent this from occurring...

Also a weak chassis will not feel as responsive as a stiffened chassis, of coarse...

IMO, if you don't go auto-xing or run mountains at all it wouldn't be an urgent part to buy, since the chassis isn't being abused too badly, and considering that the S chassis is already pretty ridged from factory...

I'm trying to stiffen my baby up as much as possible as soon as I can so it's more responsive and so that it can hold it's straight frame longer...

Hope this helps, sorry if you already knew all of this...

Good luck

Philip

I have the Spoon one and it works really great for me. I heard some ppl complaining about it gets into the wat when you do an oil change yourself. I don't do oil change myself so this didn't trouble me at all.

I definitely agree with S2K-ALI. I would buy the Ricks x-brace again in a heart beat!
