if the owner presses charges, the cops can give you a moving violation on private property.

anyone ever see that video of the STi doing donuts in the parking lot? he's doing donuts, and all of a sudden a cop pulls up with his lights on. the kid says he had permission to do it, and the owner comes out and the cops go "he says he had permission" and the owner says "yep he does". rofl. and they walk away. donuts = 1, cops = 0

In the state of Georgia it's called "Laying Drag", one of the Atlanta owners (not me) was ticketed for doing donuts in a parking lot a few months back. Don't remember how much the ticket was.

It's America; you can get a ticket as soon as you step outside the house.

It the late 80's I got a ticket for "Harsh and Objectionable Noise" for laying a 50 foot patch of rubber in a gas station parking lot. Some one ran a red light and almost t boned me and then gave me the finger when I held up my arms in a " what the f are doing kind of gesture" . He took off and I decided to chase him. What I did not know was a cop was walking the street and saw me fly through the parking lot and back on to the main street with my wheels spinning to chase the person. A few minutes later while following the person waiting for them to stop I was surrounded by 3 cruisers. I explained what had happened and talked them out of giving me a ticket for "Driving to endanger" , they still gave me the "Harsh and Objectionable Noise" ticket which at the time was $50 and a surcharge on my insurance. The last time I got a ticket was in 1995 driving a Sel Sol DOHC VTEC 75 in a 40 zone , I havn't gotten stoped since. I hope my luck continues with my new S2000. I have only had it 2 days and worried the cops will notice how much fun I am having with it.
