I'll have to respectfully disagree w/ that part.

It couldn't & wouldn't happen to anyone who knows enough not to do 80+ mph in the rain. While age may be a touchy subject around here, you can bet that a majority of the 50+ crowd would not be doing 80+ mph in the rain, regardless of which tires they have, how much tread is left, etc.

And in case you're wondering, I do not fall in the "50+" crowd that I mention above.

...as a heart attack, had just come from a stop light, there happens to be a low spot for drainage so it was pretty wet during a hard storm, rear broke loose and never settled back down. Luckily I didn't hit anybody else and somehow my car came out unscathed.

Hondacare sent a tow truck, they extracted my from the mud, I eased it back on the street and to a gas station. No damage whatsoever (my alignment got screwed).

Bought brand new S03's on the way home!

I WAS stupid, I have needed to replace my tires for a little while and kept putting it off for "just a couple more weeks" I have been driving super gingerly in the rain for a month or 2 now as I could feel it breaking away here and there and I knew I needed tires. Start off in 2nd etc... My moral is, it may not matter how well you are behaving, GET NEW TIRES, it's part of ownership of this car!

Travis

Here is a shot of my tires taken that morning after driving home (and cleaning off pounds and pounds of mud In case anyone wants a point of reference)

Please. That is total . That will never happen to most of us because we don't do 90mph in the rain.

I can drive upto 10-15 mph faster than traffic if the road is dry. But I alway drive 5-15 mph slower than traffic when the road is wet and I kept the longer distance between my car and the car on front of me when the road is slippery. I use my head, not my heart, when I drive.

I agree.
I drive pretty fast when the condition is good.

When it's raining, I take the FWD car. If I'm caught with the S in the rain, old ladies give me the finger as they pass me.
