Default Door Rattle Quick Fix

I've read a lot of posts about doors rattling over bumps. Everything I've tried from seatbelts to window holders to loose spare tires never helped me. It always seemed like the doors weren't adjusted properly but the fit was correct on the outside of the door (flush). It sounded like the door latch was rattling against the door striker. I could push hard on the outside of the door when closed and re-create the sound.

Finally, a simple solution. There are two door cushions (Helms 20-19, Item 4) on either door. They are on the upper and lower aft side of the door. To adjust them in or out, rotate by hand CW or CCW. Mine were found adjusted as far into the door as possible. I moved them out as far as they will go (without falling out). This secures the door against the body and eliminates my rattle. Hopefully, you will find similar results.

Thanks to this old post. I have a door rattle and I made this adjustment. I try to rotate the cushions all the way out but the door will not close so I rotate it back until the door will close. Hopefully this will solve my rattle issue. Thanks to the OP.

good info, I didn't realize those ones extended like the hood adjusters do, I thought they were fixed. I just extended mine. What I did was push on the door to see if it moved, then adjusted them outwards and rechecked movement of the door until I didn't see any. It also gives the door a nice softer closing sound. Thanks for posting !
