Default Double sided tape on OEM spoiler question

Is this possible? I recently got a used OEM spoiler and will do the installation this weekend. As far as i know i have to drill 4 holes. 1 on each side where there are markings and the other 2 in the middle. My problem is i dont have a template or those sticky rings that serve as markers for those center holes when you buy it brand new. My question now is, can i just use 1 screw per side and then tape the rest of it so i dont have to drill holes in the middle? thanks

sounds chincy i would do it right...dont want it flying off or maybe one screw coming and having that thing whip around into your rear window...just my .02

Measure twice cut once thats all. I dont think any amount of double sided tape will hold that with all that wind resistance. and i wouldnt trust 1 screw on either side either. Just IMO

You want to install all of the screws. There is a lot of drag trying to pull that thing off.

I've had mine on just the way you described (one screw on each end and ds tape all around) and have had no issues whatsoever, triple digit speeds and all. Drilling the holes in the center of the trunk severely limits you down the road if you may want to change spoiler styles. Just my .02.

i think the two holes on the side are easy to drill because of the marks underneath. its just the center holes i'm worried about. anybody else who did the 2 screw/double sided tape combo?

For what its worth, I had a Mugen SS wing on my trunk that I installed with two screws (1 in each bracket) and some red 3m automotive tape. After I took the screws out I could NOT remove the wing brackets for the life of me. My trunk was denting before the damn tape would come apart!! I had to heat it with a heat gun for around 15 minutes and it finally came off with some prying. That stuff really works. BTW, the two holes for the SS wing are the same as the OEM wing, and they are pretty easy to do.

Yeah as Xclusive said, I have the same wing and it only mounts with 2 bolts. I don't even have double sided tape under it and it holds just fine.

You should be more then just fine with 2 bolts and doublesided tape
