Downshifting in the S is amazing...
Wel i have only had my car for a little less than a month, and ive been experimenting every now and then. all i can say is that it is just pure insanity to be on the roads and have the power to go from 6th to 4th, 4th to 2nd, 5th to 3rd, and sometimes 6th to 3rd if the revs are low. the s2000 is amazing, i would never imagine shifitng like that untill i got in the S.
btw, when you guys down shift, do you feather the clutch out, or pop it? i feather it mainly, but im wondering bout poping it.
ex: your on the highway in 6th doing about 65-70, you nail the clutch to the floor and throw it in 4th and do you take your time and feather it out, or just pop it and go?

It's easier on your drivetrain and you won't have to worry about popping or feathering.
Yea. I was driving home from Atlantic City today and after owning the car since October 2003, the car still never ceases to amaze me!! It is just an incredible machine and is dangerously fast!! I always rev match when I downshift. It has a ton of passing power on the highway.
i had a GSR and got the S 2 weeks ago. it doesn't feel any faster really (but the speedo says otherwise!!), and the tranny is even better than the GSR's, which is regarded as the best FF tranny out there. I also rev-match downshift...just clutch in, blip the throttle, and let out the clutch...no jerking and the clutch is treated well. It takes some time, but eventually you are able to "guess" how much throttle is needed for each gear.
rev matching forces the engine to spin the same speed as the flywheel, thus the clutch doesn't even break a sweat when you downshift.

rev match feathering is best i think. if you pop in the wrong gear, you cant catch it.

a couple of times I've grabbed 2 when I meant to grab 4 and pop of the clutch would have been disasterous.
