Default The dreaded bumper alignment issue

05 S2000 with 1800 miles. From the straight on shot it doesn't look all that bad. In the other pics you can see it's not lined up right. So, if this was your car would you take it in to the dealer and risk them possibly making it worse or just leave it be. Out of 4 of my friends that I showed the car to, only one picked out the defect. I'm inclined to just let it go as it's not that noticable but it just bugs me that the car is new.

Mines like that too and i jus left it... mainly for the reason u stated... didn't want the dealer messing it up more than it already is.

Mine has been like that since new. I never gave a crap about it because I just figured messing with it would only worsen the situation. Honestly, I don't expect the panel gaps to be perfect on the car.

Leave it alone. They might make it worse, or scratch it up to hell and have to repaint. If it starts to have the paint peel, then take it in. That was the problem with mine.

Paint is perfect on the car. If it does start to peel you better believe I'll be taking it in!!!

One would hope. To give credit where credit is due, this is the only defect on the car. Every thing else is perfect, the paint is even flawless with 0 defects. That's why I'm so hesitant on bringing it in for repair. I talked to my dealer about it and he said bring it in and they would take care of it. Now I'm like, hmmm maybe I'll just live with it because I don't want them screwing any thing else up.

from what i read, all +04 suffer from this. The day i picked up my car, the internet sales manager offered to "fix" the problem, i declined however in fear of them perpetuating the problem or scratching the paint.

Alll the dealer has to do is re-align the clip for the bumper under the tail light. No painting is required. The bumper pops out of place when it gets hot out. Some people are using pop rivets to hold the clip in place. There is a thread on this under "TELL HONDA"
