I previously just sold my 99' SSBP GSR, because i was getting alot of attention from the many "mr. sticky fingers" out there. it was just becoming to much of a hassle. and it gave me a reason to upgrade. although i am gonna miss that sexy color.

I have about $5000 to put down for a down payment. i didn't wanna get a type r, because of the increased chance of theft. so i'm think about the DC5-S and the REAL S.

I found an 03' type s with 29,000miles for 19k.
I found an 01' s2000 with 25,000miles for 21k.

i've driven a type s and was impressed, but haven't driven a type s.
daily driver isn't an issue. just looking for opinions

ps- i did search

this is S2KI
i don't think anyone here would choose a sports coupe over the S2000...
unless you REALLY needed back seats.

yes, apples and oranges. the rsx has more body roll, torque steer, less grip, less on-center feel, less neutral handling overall, better radio, way more ground clearance.

I sold my RSX-S for my S. As mentioned, the RSX-S has more roll and understeer in stock form. The stock tires suck...they don't grip well in dry or wet. The only good thing about them is that they are very progressive in dry (but not in wet). Handling can be drastically improved on the RSX-S w/ better tires and suspension. I think it's sprung too softly stock. Room in the RSX-S is considerably greater, not just for your passenger, and obviously rear passengers, but for yourself and the trunk. I could haul all sorts of things in the RSX. With the S2k however, the driving feel is just different. It has a more solid feeling. You feel more connected to the road. I think the chassis is more communicative then the DC5 chassis. However, the K20A2 is a great engine and with little work, an RSX-S can be a faster car than an S2k. You really need to drive both to feel the difference. In the end, it'll likely come down to whether you want the space for ppl and cargo vs. sheer driving fun. The S2k is just more fun to drive, even tho I did have my RSX-S modified and I liked the handling.

You missed that he came to an S2000 family and asked if he should get an S or and RSX... ummm... let's see, yup according to my math I would bet 99% of the people on this board which is over 35,000... would say get the S... hell half the people on the RSX board would say get the S, so what do that mean...
