I dunno about you guys, but everytime I park my car cant stop but think about whose gonna be parking next to my baby. I'm at work right now and about every 10 mins i go and check if anyone parked next to my car; I wait about 10-20 mins till someone leaves the parking space next to the handicap parking so at least i wont get a double wammy hehe anyone else as paranoid as me=)

I'm always thinking about where I park my S. I park so far away from the entrance of stores, that my girlfriend always complains about having to hike to the store. If I can't find a good parking spot all by itself, then I look for an end spot and park WAY over and a little crooked too.

Before I worked from home, I had to park in a structure. I would always park in this end spot, right next to a pillar and park it at an angle. That way, evem if someone parked next to me, the door would be far away from his car.

For me it's these damn trees at work that sap and drop these blue flowers that stick on your car. You can drive 100mph and those flowers won't even come off. After parking in these spots, you look like you can join the Rose parade as a float. I try to avoid those parking spaces if I can, but sometimes I have no choice.

A heart problem allows me to have a handicapped tag. I am not ashamed. I can park my baby safely away from harm. If anyone challenges me, I just flash my Medicare Card.

Short answer: Boy, do I worry about where I park.

Long answer: The building where I work has limited covered parking. In Arizona, leaving the car uncovered is a quick route to blistering hot interiors and probable fading. So, I have one option of very carefully choosing covered parking next to a curb, parking as close as I dare to the curb, and hoping the person who parks next to me parks in the center of his/her spot. This way, all but the longest of doors will be at a safe distance from my car.

Another option is to invest in a car cover and just park in the middle of nowhere. However, for several weeks in the summer we have a little thing called monsoon season. This basically involves driving gusts of wind that stir up as much dirt and dust as possible into the air, frequently followed by intense (albeit brief) rainstorms that deposit said dust and dirt onto any poor S2000 not safely stowed under covered parking. Then I've just got a car under a filthy cover.

As I've seen covers blow off in these circumstances, and I don't like the idea of a cable buffeting around against the car, I've chosen the first option for now. The ideal solution is another car for a daily driver in the summer, but that's not in the cards right now. But I do worry about the poor car all day long.

Sorry for the rambling. Just had to get this all out.

Mike

Word. Parking the car brings on a fit of paranoia every time. Consider first that this is my 13th car, and every one before it has been totaled or stolen. My last Honda was stolen and stripped twice, and totaled three times in two years. Four out of five of those incidences occured while the car was parked!

I don't have any dings yet, but WHEN the first one shows up... well I hope I am not in a type A mood that day.
