drifting?
are there any competitions where drifting is performed on wet roads? it seems to me in my limited understanding that it would be easier on the tires, the car, and all the parts. what are the drawbacks?
hum, im not sure if their are competitions in different weather...
most people learn how to drift in the snow/rain/ice...its easier to get sideways at slower speeds, but you have to be very careful. the weather will sometimes make the car go where it wants to go and not where you plan on making it go...
be really careful in the S, it will want to fishtale and NOT DRIFT...

i have an old 240 i like to go play in the rain with, i mean who really needs a front bumper on a 240 anyway. i don't drift my s2k much im not that good at it in the S and have ended up facing backwards in very awkward places.

I've never heard of "wet drifting competitions" but I'd tend to think that it would be difficult to keep the track wet. It is possible...BMW has one at their driver training facility. I saw it on TV one time...looked like a lot of fun.
Drifting events are for the simple minds who like to "OOH" and "AHH" at screeching tires and big plumes of smoke, rather than appreciate actual driving skill.
Wet tracks take that away from the event, making it quite boring.
