Default Drive the S to flroida or not?

Well i just got my first S 3 weeks ago...And i love it to death i'm 23 and have wanted it for the last 2 years...Anyway iam in ohio and plan on going down to daytona beach at the end of the month.I want to drive it but then agian i dont.Miles dont bother me right now since its a 02 with 12k miles on it.But iam really concerned about stone chips. The car had barley any when i got it i put 2k miles on it and i have so many now it pisses me off and i dont have the money for the 3m protectant right now..And i know after driving it for a while it is going to start to be uncomfetable...So how many of you have traveled far and not beat up your car too much

I haven't owned my car very long but I would do it. I have been commuting with mine back and forth from Central NJ to NYC daily, 1-2 hour drive depending on traffic. The car is great, the only thing that gets uncomfortable after a while is your lower back due to lack of support. As for the rock chips, you can pick up a regular bra pretty cheap. From what I have read, if you take a break every 2 hours you will be fine.

I am getting ready from NJ to South Carolina trip soon, bra less

Drive it! I took mine from Minnesota to Chicago and loved all 1200 miles of the trip! BTW, I have a MY02 that is now at ~11,345 miles.

Just do it... I drove it from Chicago to New Jersey (and back) once... Just keep your distance from other cars in front of you and you shouldnt have too many problems with stone chips. However, if you have a heavy foot (like I do), maybe it is better to go with another car which wont provoke you to speed. I returned from New Jersey with 7 tickets (mostly speeding) and over $1,000 in bond money so now whenever I have to go on a long drive, I just take the SUV or something...

1) you can tape up the front end and don't worry about the rock chips.
2) I drove my S from Va to Tx and it was GREAT! I highly recommend taking the car on a road trip.

masking tape...you can get it from bodyshops. I think even Home Depot has it....its blue, by 3M and is easy to peel off.
