I hope they weren't trying to save some money by continuing to run their summer tires during the winter.
My condolences to the families.

Im a regular on clubrsx.com...but am picking up an s2k in march so ive been frequenting this board now and again...

anyway..about two weeks ago i was on 95 comin out of philly when this kid in a white ap1 and another guy in a silver ap2 and a red tiburon came blowin by. anyway...i cought up to the white s2k and we paced eachother at about 75..80ish...he was the first car who i had run into who was just as loud as i am (i have the buddy club spec III exhaust and a buddy club race header). anyway...crazy to hear about this..

ive heard from a friend close to the family that what happened was he was following his sister and his sisters boyfriend (both in the boyfriends red tiburon) when they hit a light. the tiburon went thru and he stopped. i guess he sped up to catch them after he got a green. the boyfriend apparently said that right after he passed them he was just getting into vtec....now that is a 40 mph zone...so if he cought up to them and then passed them in vtec..im gonna say he could have been doin around 70 or so...anyway the bf said that he bottomed out while going around a slight bend...lost control....

its a damn shame...so young...rip to driver and passenger

Speed not a factor? Please. I hit a brick wall at 40-50 mph while airborne in my S and both my passenger and I were uninjured. They had to be haulin ass. RIP

I live about 5 mins from that intersection. Most of that section of road is straight.

It's a 12 lane highway. 6 in each direction, 3 in the middle,3 on the sides. There are intermitten crossing sections between the dividers. They must've tried to cross the divider at speed and missed. They are kind of dangerous if you're not used to them.

i don't know. hitting a brick wall at 45mph is A LOT different than hitting a tree and a telephone pole at 45mph. The trees and the poles will just kill you. you can't win with it. I've seen a lot of people get hurt bad or die from hitting a tree.

If I had a choice, which we don't, I would take a flat brick wall any day over a tree. Tree kills.

to put it simply, the difference is, where a brick wall would be like getting hit in the face with a punching gloves, to where a tree or a pole would be getting stabbed with a knife. very different.
