Default Drive-by-Wire (DBW) Throttle System

Does anyone have an S2000 with this feature?

My cousin has it on his TT and I don't really like it.. I think the response is slower.. ...

i hate it!

response is slower, and you don't have control of the car, with VSA it cuts out throttle when you don't want it to.

it's great to simplify things but man give me a throttle cable any day and i will be a happy camper

There is that button you can press that will turn the VSA off which will help with your throttle cutting out issues.

The DBW in the S is practically seemless compared to a cable. Much better than just about any car with DBW. Going from a 2005 to a 2006 personally I did not notice a difference with the VSA turned off. Turn the VSA on and it adds some extra peace of mind when not pushing to the limits.

If they didn't tell you it was there, probably, you wouldn't notice it. Very smooth throttle response. Also seems to make the cruise control more accurate.

I've owned a couple of Audis, inc a TT. The DBW system in the Honda is great. As stated, turn the VSA off and it's 100% non-intrusive.

It's not an issue at all. Inclimate weather bonus and track time ready to play. The best of both worlds.

I just traded in an '04 S2k (Silverstone) for an '06 (Suzuka!), and there's definitely a different throttle feel -- the '06 pedal requires a lighter touch (the engine seems to spool up more readily). Haven't noticed any delay.

Well I had a TSX before my S2000 and that was drive by wire. I woulden't say I hated it but you can definately tell it's a little different and my TSX was six speed and it did take a little longer to adjust to the throttle response after releasing the clutch. However I do agree that I think it makes the cruise more accurate.

I didn't care for the DBW feature (one of the reasons why I got rid of my 06)

I don't notice it one bit. With VSA off, I know I can launch better, and throttle response MAY be improved, but only by a little bit, if at all.

Now I think the new 06 Civics have it. I've driven one on numerous occasions and I can't tell if the DBW is worse on that car, or if it just a lack of power, or the automatic transmission lag.

The DBW on my S, feels just the same as my 00 Civic SI with an adjusted tighter throttle cable.

I have no complaints.

This seems to be the trend.

(psssst. Hey guys. Did you know that the S2000's EPS is powered by a hampster in a wheel? Better go put a drop of oil on that wheel.)
