I have had an AP1 and an AP2 DBW, and I can't tell a difference. Other cars like the 350z and the G35 coupe made me VERY hesitant to even test drive a DBW S2000, but once I did I was happy with it.

I have DBW 07 and have driven an 04-05. It felt like much better throttle response to me. The non DBW that is.

I would try to find a dealer with each so you can test drive them both and decide for yourself.

So, 24tq/hp = "boatload of power"?

gains up to 24tq/hp have been realized in the midrange with the reflash and headers/exhaust.
I believe that gain was mainly from lowering the VTEC engagement point, which isn't really surprising.

I have to disagree with "boatload of power".

From Hondata "Tuning Notes.

The 06 S2000 is the first S2000 by Honda to have a programmable ECU. Our observations are that this is a very well tuned car from the factory. There were no peak power gains, but by raising the rev limit will increase the average power available when you shift at the rev limit.

The VTEC transition is much smoother than before. Peak torque may look as if has been reduced slightly, but this is an artifact of the dyno trying to catch the engine accelerating after the VTEC switch point."
yah im not talking about "peak power" like every benchracing jackass. im talkinga bout area under the curve. check it out sometime

thats part of it, but thats the point. cant do that with a plug and play item for the 05 and older.

yah yah, you can buy a EMS pr E-manage....but you avhe to have it tuned. the reflash is a one stop thing

Interesting, the dyno does not show this from a simple reflash. Having to change the header and exhaust coupled with the reflash produces those gains you mentioned, I'm guessing with no cat, so the car will be illegal for the street.

If that works for the OP, fantastic. I need to be street legal myself.

I've driven plenty of AP1's, AP2's and DBW AP2's. The DBW is seemless to me, and the added VSA is a huge bonus duing crappy weather, or worn tires.

I wouldn't kick a DBW S2k out of the garage.

Yes - basically, spend $3k and get 24hp.

The smart options for power in an S has always been FI - you just don't get much from NA mods.
