Default Driver Seat Left Bolster

I have an 04 with 2,777 miles and i've noticed wear on the leather where my butt rubs the bolster getting in.

I can't get in without rubbing. Is the wear normal? Am I getting in wrong? I've owned 10+ true sports cars over the years and never noticed this problem except the cloth seats in a '97 Miata after 20k miles.

I have an '03 and noticed wear on the second week of ownership.

Right now there are several "scratches" as I would call them that have gone down past the black finish and are showing the greyish leather underneath. All that's been contacting the seat were my jeans. And no, I carry nothing, not even a wallet in my back pockets.

I've looked at several S2000's and all of them have wear on the left side of the driver's seat: wrinking (looks like cracks), smashed/compressed hip supports and excessive wear on the bolsters on the left side.

Someone posted they had this addressed as a warranty issue. It's frankly it's the one item I am really unhappy with on the car.

Thanks RWRONE that was informative and useful. When I go to dealership for service I'm going to fuss a bit.

A little bit of leather conditioner will bring them right back, mine were pretty bad to almost new looking with conditioner. The leather is thin though so it comes back which sucks.

You may have difficulty getting this addressed as a warranty issue. Since you car is quite new, you may have a chance. It won't hurt to try.
